Winery Notes: An excellent introduction to the myriad pleasures of Paso Robles. Hailing from some of our “greatest hit” sites, these head-trained, dry-farmed vines were planted between the 1880s and 1940s in the calcareous soils of the Willow Creek and Templeton Gap sub AVAs. Warm, sun-filled days and cool, coastal evenings contribute to the copious fruits and fresh, vibrant acidity typical of Zinfandel in Paso Robles. As our winemaker Tegan put it, this wine is like a “cowboy surfer!” Unmistakably from Paso Robles, this wine is all fruit up front: ripe, red berries and dark, dense fruits abound on the nose and palate. Lots of juicy acidity and lush, pleasure-inducing texture, with plenty of freshness and high-toned chalky structure to boot! Cowabunga!--Turley Wine Cellars
